The pen is licensed for 4 doses but there is an additional solution of Mounjaro in the way the pen is made by the manufacturer.
Each pen contains 3mL and each dose is approximately 0.6mL, leaving 0.6ml as residual liquid to account for priming. This leftover liquid is NOT an extra dose, please do NOT inject the leftover liquid. The pen is designed for 4 doses only, the '5th golden dose' is not intended by the manufacturers, which is technically an out of date dose and not a complete dose. The safety, stability, efficacy of the drug is unknown beyond its expiry.
Please do not use the liquid level within the window of the pen as a marker for how many doses are left. If you are unsure, please contact us with a photo of your pen so one of our colleagues can help you.
Please do not try other methods of injecting this medication as this risks you overdosing/ under-dosing and it is impossible for us to know for sure what dosage you have actually taken.
Please ensure to take all 4 doses of medication within 4 weeks of opening.
