Each time you use your Mounjaro® pen, it needs to be primed to remove any air bubbles. During the priming process, a small amount of liquid is released, so the manufacturers include extra liquid in the pen to ensure you receive the full four treatment doses.
As a result, there may still be some liquid left in the pen after you've completed all four doses. This leftover liquid is not a full dose and cannot be administered. This is normal and ensures that priming the pen does not affect the volume of your treatment doses.
Once you’ve used all four doses, you can safely dispose of the pen, even if there is some liquid remaining.
