- If the weight loss medication is helping you manage your weight, appetite, or blood sugar and you're struggling without it, you may benefit from staying on a maintenance dose long-term.
- However, some people can stop completely once they’ve developed strong lifestyle habits and are confident in managing their weight without medication.
Many people stay on a lower maintenance dose for 3–6 months after hitting their goal, then try coming off it gradually to see how they feel.
